maketh Oath that between the hours of nine and ten in the
Morning of Tuesday last Dept. passing through Saint George
Turn pike Gate near the Oblelick in the parish of Saint George
the Martyr
within the Borough
of Southwark
he saw a Cart
drawn by three Horses (that Dept. supposes had just before passed go through the Gate) a little before
Dept. passing along the Road leading to Kennington
Common
that a Man who appeared to be the Driver of said Cart
and whom Dept. believes to be the deced was on the near side
of his Horses. that the deced appeared to have hold of the
Middle Horse (drawing the Cart) that the Horses were
going at a very smart rate and the deced appeared to be
endeavouring to stop the Horsesthat the deced fell down
[..] and the near Wheel of the Cart appeared to go over the
breast of the decedthat the Armes were immediately
stoptDept. has seen the deced driving the same Cart and
Horses several times along the Roadthat he was in the
service of Mrs. Moreley of the Wash Way Kennington
Common near the White Swan Ryandner to whom the
Cart and Horses belongedthat Dept. has seen the deced
this afternoon lying dead in Saint Thomas's Hospital
to which place Dept. understood he had been taken for the
injury he received by the Wheel of the Cart going overand
him and that he died the same Day (Tuesday last)
