view of the Body of Elias Banes now
here lying dead.

Mrs. Creeds of No.17 Horsley Down in the Borough
of
Southwark
maketh Oath that on Sunday Evening last
Dept. was employed in looking after a Boat belonging
to Mr. Brickwood then lying off Cox's Quay
that [..] between
the hours of eight & nine [..] me Evening on Dept. going to
the house of Mr. Daffin the Antigallican at Billingsgate
he understood that a Man had fallen overboard from
the Dengal Hoy< no role >
then lying near Billingsgate
upon
which Dept. went and got a Drag and went to Drag
after the deced. That in about an hour afterwards
Dept. dragged the deced up from out of the Water near
the Dublin Chain opposite the Tower
that the deced
had all his Cloaths on a Watch in his pocket a pair of
Silver Knee Buckles
in his Knees and some half pence
and a shilling in his pocket That the deced was warm
wentwhen Dept. got him out of the Waterthat dept. conveyed
the body on shore to said Mr. Duffins house and there
left his andalsodelivd. the deced's property to Mr. Duffin
that experiments were tryed on the deced at Mr. Duffin's
house in order to bring him to [..] without effect

Oath that the deced who was also a Custom house
Officer were last Sund Evening on Duty on
Board the Bengal [..] lying in the River Thames
faring Bed Quay that about ½ part eight same
Evening the deced went into a Boat lying along side
said Hoy with intent to go on shore for some Beer
that he was quite so be that no person was in the
Boat with him that in a Minute or two after
the deced had quitted said Hoy Dept heard some
