An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at London (that is to say)
at the Parish of Saint Margaret Hill< no role > in the ward of Billingsgate in London aforesaid on the
twenty second day of October in the thirty first Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord< no role > George the
third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King defender of the faith and
so forth Before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of
London and Borough of Southwark on view of the Body of Daniel Malding< no role > now here lying
dead by the Oath of George Hall< no role > Denham Priest< no role > , Henry Fenn< no role > , John Fenn< no role > , John Jacobs< no role > , Thomas
Goodwen, Robert Orr< no role > , John Price< no role > , William Westley< no role > William Adams< no role > , William Parnell< no role >
James Buxlan< no role > , William Taylor< no role > and John Bates< no role > Good and lawful Men of the City of London
aforesaid who being now here duly chosen sworn and charged to Inquire for our said Lord the
King when now and in what manner the said Daniel Malding< no role > came to his Death say upon
their Oath that the said Daniel Malding< no role > on the twentieth day of September in the Year aforesaid
being in and on board of a certain Vessel lying on the River Thames called the Robert and Jane
accidentally casually and by misfortune fell from and out of the said Vessel into the River
Thames and in and with the waters of the said River was then and there suffocated and
Drowned of which said suffocation and Drowning the said Daniel Malding< no role > did then
and there die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the
said Daniel Malding< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid accidentally casually
and by misfortune was suffocated and Drowned In Witness whereof as well the
said Coroner as the said George Hall< no role > the Foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of
himself and the rest of his Fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition set
their hands and Seals the day Year and place first above written.
