Depositions of Witness taken at
the Parish of Saint Sepulchre the
8th. day of July 1791 on view of
the Body of James Fowns then
and there lying dead

Alexander George Sinclair a< no role > Prisoner for Dept in it is Majesty's
Gaol of Newgate maketh Oath that he hath known the deced
James Fownes< no role > about eight or nine days that he was also a Prisoner
in the said Gaol for DebtThat between the house of eight and nine
in the Morning of Yesterday the instant Dept. was called into the
lodge of the said Prison to look at the decedthat when he came
into the lodge he found the deced lying in Mr. Pitt the under Keepers
Armsthat he was quite speechless and appeared to be expiringthat
Dept. endeavored to bleed the deced but without effect the blood came
from himthat in a very little time the deced was quite dead
that Dept. examined the deced very minutely afterwards and on
inspection he found that the templar Arteries were burst which
Dept. says may be occasioned by indden Joy or Grief by Sneazing
[..] Dept. says the deced has been in a Consumptive habit of Body
during the whole time he has known him
