Depositions of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say, at the Parish of Saint Andrew
by the Wardrobe in the Ward of Castle baynard in
London aforesaid the 27th. day of October 1790
on view of the body of James Robert< no role > Trimmer
now here lying dead

Samuel Thornton< no role > of Mark Lane London Lighterman
maketh Oath that the deced James Robert< no role > Trimmer has been an
Apprentice to Dept. about a Year & a half that he was about
eighteen Years of Age that he appeared to be on sober Lad
that about the hour of one in the Afternoon [..] Yesterday the
26th. instt the deced tookhadhis Dinner in a Bag at Depts. house that as soon
as the deced had taken [..] his Dinner he set out from Dept. house
for the purpose of taking twenty Sacks of Oats in a small Punter
Boat from Hays's Wharf to Mr. Atkinsons Whart in the Parish
of St. Andrew by the Wardrobe London that the deced not
returning that night Dept. was rather uneasy that the about five OClocknext
[..] this Morning Dept. sent one of his Men to look after the
deced that about nine OClock this Morning Dept. was informed
by one of his Servants that the deced was found lying Dead on
the Mud near said Mr Atkinsons Whart that Dept. in
consequence of that Information left his house and went to said
Mr. Atkinsons Wharf that he found the deced had been
movedfrom saidtothea Vault belonging to the Church of said
Parish that he has seen the deced this Evening lying dead
in the said [..] Vault that at the [..] time the deced left Dept. home he
was quite so be.

William Kirby< no role > a Lodger at No. 29 Bear Lane in the parish of
Christ Church in the County of Surrey a Watchman at the Corner
Whart situate in the Parish of St. Andrew by the Wardrobe London
maketh Oath that between the hours of ten and eleven last Night
Dept: though the saw something lying on the Mird & few Yards from
the front of said Whart next the Thames which Dept. thought looked like
a human being that the side had been down sometime that Dept. acquainted a Mrs. Hart of the Bricklayers
Arms & some other persons of what he had seen about Dept. being a Watchman
on said Wharf could not have the Wharf that about One OClock
some persons come down and took the deced out of the Mird
