Duntar now lying in the River Thames
maketh oath that
on the 8th. instant the said Brig was in Yarmouth Roads
on her
Voyage to London That off Yarmouth Dept observed the Speedy
Sloop of War tringing several Vessells too that were also on their
Voyage to London, upon which Dept lewered both of is top Gallant
Sails & prepared to bring too also, expects to be bro's tod as well
as the other Vessels-The May Tails were Lanled down & the
fore Sail was hauling up [..] when a Gun was fired
from the Sloop which carried away the Starboard fore shroud
struck the foreman, and wounded the deced who was Lanling the
Larboard fore buntling up, and carried away a timber head
on the forecastle of the larboard side. That the Vessel Love tod
immedy. and the Sloop of Wars beat boarded him and took one
man out of the Vessel Dept requested the officer in the Sloops boat
to take the deced on board the Slopp that his wound my lit be dressed
which he was willing to do but the deced refused to go-That the
Sloops beat then quitted Depts. Vessel and Dept made the best
of his was to London-Says the deced was wounded in his eight
Thigh-That Dept dressed the deceds wounds as well as he could
The next day the Vessell arrived in the River Thames
and the deced
was taken to Saint Thomas's Hospital
where he remained until
last Sunday when he died. Dept says his possible the Gun might
hans fire &theDepth. Vessel shoots. a' head might to the reason of
[..] the Gun striks the vessel & wounds. the deced.
