Informations of Witnesses taken at the
parish of Saint George within the Borough
of
Southwark
in the County of Surrey
on the 28th
day of January 1789 on view of the body a
Woman unknown now her lying dead.

living opposite the Moonraker's
in the
Parish of Saint George within the Borough of Southwark
maketh Oath and saith that about the hour of seven in
the Morning of Yesterday the 27th. instt. he saw something
in a Ditch opposite her Dept. house that some Boys then
passing by the asked them what is was they sayed it
was a Bundle of Rags that Dept. thinking into be something
thrown out of his Ropewalk devised a Boy to bring him a
piece of Wooden board & which the put into the said ditch
and on th having it about the discovered a persons head-that
the pulled the Body to the edge of the ditch and it appeared
to be Woman by its dress-that these was a great deal of
water in the ditch
at the time-that two Stranger
coming by pulled the Body out of the ditch and layher
Upon the Bank near the edge of the ditch
