Qw

If the Pauper did or did not gain a Settlemt
in the Parish where he Join thy Rented this
Tenement at £14 P annum?
This Question came before the Court of Kings Bench
about 7 Years age, where it was determined that
neither had gained a Settlemt by such Renting
for if two, by the same reason 20, might, which
is contrary to the Intent of the but, under which
it has been held, to be necessary that every per
son should have sufficient Credit to take a Tenemt
of 10£ to gain a Settlemt & it cant be said in this
Case that either had such Credit. and the Wood
persons used in the Slat of 13 & 14 Ch & I think
relates only to the general Woods before used
of Poor People & does not extend to two person
joining in taking a Tenemt: therefore the
Pauper is removed to his pauper Settlemt
