Ordered also that the further sum of Five Guineas
be paid to the said John Iselton< no role > for his Extra Service
and attendance during the Repairs of the Church, on
the Motion of Mr. Batten.

Parish Clerk

Ordered that a sum not exceeding Thirty one
Pounds fifteen Shillings be paid to Mr. John Winter< no role >
Oswin Parish Clerk, for one year ending at Lady day
last as a Gratuity, upon the usual Condition of his
not collecting Money from the Parishioners.

Engine Keeper

John Iselton< no role > was put up and chose Keeper of the
Fire Engines for the year ensuing.

Overseers

Mr. Edward Tutet< no role > present Church Warden , Mr. Jas.
Green, Mr. Thomas Hudson< no role > , and Mr. John Hawkins< no role >
were severally nominated to be Overseers of the Poor
for the year ensuing.

Repairs of Church

The next Business that came on was the appointment
of Auditors of Mr. Tutets Account. Previous to which
a long Conversation took place between several of the
Gentlemen present concerning the Repairs of the Church.
And it was insisted by Mr. Hankey that too large an
Expence had been incurred, and that the Sum to be
laid out ought to have been mentioned in the Notices
for holding the Vestries. And it was further alledged
by Mr. Ridgeway that a Surveyor ought to have been
appointed to take an Estimate of the Expence, and to
inspect the Workmen's Bills. In answer to which it
was replied by the Church Warden and several of the
Gentlemen of the Committee, that due Notice had been
given to the Parishioners on every occasion of what
related to the Repairs, that a Committee had been
regularly appointed, and the several Estimates laid
before the Committee had been approved of at a full
Vestry, and the Proceedings Confirmed at a subsequents
Vestry, and that Mr. Hudson having examined the
Workmen's Bill the Expence of employing a Surveyor
had been saved. The Entries of the Minutes at the
several meetings of the Committee, and the Orders of Vestry
made on the 8th. and 13th. of June last were then read
