of the last Vestry were thereupon Read.

And Mr. Hughes being in waiting was called in
and told the Vestry that the high Price of Provisions
obliged time to require Three pence Extraordinary per
head for the Poor in the Workhouse from Midsumer
last, and named many other Parishes that made him
that Allowance, but which he promised to Abate as
soon as Provisions were cheaper.

N. B. The Agreement is by
the Week of Three Pence

Mr. Hughes being then ordered to withdraw the
Vestry took the matter into Consideration, and then
Mr. Maynard Moved, "That Messrs. Hughes and
Phillips be allowed three pence Extraordinary per
head for the Poor in the Workhouse commencing from
Midsummer last, they having applied to the Church
Wardens and Overseers before that time, and promised
to redue it when the Price of Provisions shall fall"
And being seconded the Question was put and Carried
in the Affirmative Nem: Con.

Mr. Hughes was then called in and acquainted
that the Vestry had agreed to his Requisition upon
the Condition aforesaid. And It was Ordered
accordingly.
