Maintenance of
Poor.
This Vestry was held pursuant to Public Notice
given in the Church to take into further Consideration the
State of the Poor of this Parish in the Workhouse
and on
other Affairs.
Ordered that the Minutes of the last Vestry
of the 23d. of June be read. And the same were read and
Confirmed.
Then Mr. Church Warden Green Reported
from the Committee appointed to treat and agree for the
maintainance of the Poor, that they had met and fully
consider'd the Proposal made by Messrs. Hughes and
Phillips of Hoxton
and had come to an Agreement with
them Upon the like Terms as mentioned in the Agreement
between the said Messrs. Hughes and Phillips and the
Parish of Saint Thomas Apostle
London which was read
at the last Vestry Except that the said Messrs. Hughes and
Phillips were in their Agreement with this Parish to be
bound in a Penalty of Fifty Pounds for the true performance
of their said Agreement with this Parish.
And Mr. Hughes being in waiting without was
Ordered to be called in: and he acquainted the Gentlemen
present that he and Mr. Phillips would be ready to
receive the Poor of this Parish into their House at
Hoxton
on Monday next the 6th. of July instant and to
execute an Agreement at the same time with the
Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of this
Parish upon such Terms as had been Agreed between
them and the said Committee.
