Memorandum It is this 13th. day February 1744 Agreed between the
Worshipfull Company of Carpenters London of the One part And George
Street
< no role > of Dicekoy London Tackle porter of the other part
As follow the said Company doth hereby agree to Lett by Lease to the
Said George Street< no role > All that their Messuage or Tenement called
and known by the Name of No.1. in Carpenters Buildings by London Wall
To hold for the term of Seven years from Lady day next at the yearly Rent
of Seventeen pounds payable Quarterly with such usual Covenants as are
inserted in the Companys Leases to which intended Lease the Company
Will cause their Comon Seal to be affixed on or before Lady day next
And the Company Will make such. Alteracons & Repairs to the House as follow
In the Right hand Cellar a Drain Sink & Tunell for a Copper with Water laid to
the Copper Windows Glazed a Flass and Shutter and White Wash'd Wall
The next Cellar partitioned off with doors a Colehole under the Stairs With boa [..]
A hole to Shoot the Coals down with a light made facing the Cellar Stairs and
A Seal in the necessary for a child. The Kitchen a Pantry on the Right hand
side and the Kitchen door moved. The Parlour the door moved and Shelves in the
Closett. One pair of Stairs the Right hand Room Compass shelves And a Closett
made on the other Side of the Chimney. Two pair of Stairs the right hand
Wainscotted Chair high, behind the Bed lined to the Ceiling with a Closett on
One side the Chimney. In the left hand Room to line Chair high. Iron
Rim Locks with Brass Nobbs to all the Doors All painted and White Washed
inside and out the Tyling made good, Bolts a Knocker and Scraper at the
Fore door, Windows made good and glazed And the said George Street< no role >
doth hereby Covenant promise and agree with the said Company to take a
Lease of the above menconed Premises upon the terms abovemenconed & will
Execute a Counterpart thereof to the said Company [..] before Lady day
next Accordingly In Witness whereof the said George Street< no role >
hath the day and year Above Written sett his hand And Nathaniel Clerk< no role >
to the said Company hath by their Consent Attested the Same George Street< no role >

NB

In February Court last it was agreed to lett No. 1 in Carpenters Buildings upon the
terms above menconed but the said George Street Would not then
agree to pay so much Rent but hath since agreed to pay the Rent as was then voted
being £17. P Ann.
