give any Account respecting the Settlement of his late parents
deced or either of them That he this Depont. was born in
East cheas in Swan Alley in the parish of St Botolph witht
Aldgate in the Said County & never was bound Apprentice
nor ever lived as a hired Servant for a year nor ever rented
a house of Ten pounds a year nor ever Served any Parish
office or paid any Poors Rates or kings Taxes nor ever
did any Act to gain a Settlement in his own Eight

knows one Thomas Hammersley< no role > who is at present absent
& who divers years ago was hired & as a hired Servant by.
the year at Certain Wages by & with one Mrs Barnard in the
parish of Kingston upon Thames in the County of Surrey &
Continued in Such Service for the Space of a year & upwards &
by means thereof gained a legal Settlement there That to
this Deponents knowledge or belief the Said Thomas HammerSley< no role >
hath not Since lived as a hired Servant for a year nor rented
a house of Ten pounds a year or upwards or Served any Parish
office or paid any poors Rates or kings Taxes or done any
Act to gain a Subsequent Settlement That he hath a Child
now living named Jane < no role > Aged about five years the lawful
lsone of the Said Thomas Hammersley< no role > by Jane < no role > his late wife
deced.
