Ann Reader< no role > Singlewoman maketh Oath
that about Three Years & a half ago, she was
hired as a Servant by the year to Mr. Carr of
Nr 18 . Argyle Street in the Parish of St. James
in the City & Liberty of Westminster Gentleman
at the yearly Wages of Nine Guineas and
continued in his Service under such hiring
for the space of One year & a half And this
Deponent further saith that about Two
Months after she quitted his Service she
was delivered of a Female Child at the
Westminster Lying in Hospital that the said
Child has been Baptized by the Name of
Matilda< no role > & is now living & likely to become
chargeable to the Parish of St. Botolph
without Aldgate in the County of Middlesex
and that John Bailey< no role > late Servant to Mr.
Carr aforesd. is the Father of the said
Child, & that the said Child is illegetimate
& a Bastard by reason that she never was
Married to the said John Bailey< no role > , And
further saith that on the Seventh Day of
June One Thousand Seven Hundred & Ninety
Seven she was hired as a Servant by the
Year to Mr. Fearon of Lower Eastsmithfield
in the said Parish of St. Botolph without
Aldgate Gentleman and has continued in
his Service under such hiring upwards
of One Year
