Eleanor Roach< no role > maketh Oath that about
Four Years ago a Roman Catholick Priest do
at the Chapel in Moorfields read over to one
Peter Higgins< no role > and this Deponent a Marriage
Ceremony or pretended Solemnization of a
Marriage between them without any preview
Publication of Banns in any Church or Chapel
or any License or Dispensation for that purpose
first had and obtained from any Person or
Persons whomsoever to this Deponents
knowledge or Belief and that in Consequence
thereof the said Peter Higgins< no role > & she did from
thenceforth Cohabit together as if they well
Man & Wife and had been lawfully Married
And this Deponent further saith that she was
born in the Parish of Upper Shannon in the
Kingdom of Ireland , that she has been in
England about Six Years & never did any Act
to her knowledge or Belief to gain a Settlement
in England that she has a Child named
Johanna aged< no role > about One Year begotten on
her Body by the said Peter Higgins< no role > & born
in the Dwelling House of Mr. Higgins in
Plough Street in the Parish of St. Mary White
Chapel in the County of Middlesex which said
Child is Illegetimate & a Bustard by reason
that she never was Married to the said Peter
Higgins (except as aforesd.) And that the said
Peter Higgins< no role > is now on Board the Jack Tar
Frigate in the Service of his Majesty
