Continued Thursday 27th. November 1794 .

That the Committee had resolved to postpone granting Leases of
the premises at Wapping Lately on Lease to Jno. Ash< no role > but to accept
of the present Tenants as Tenants at will And had empowered the
Steward to let the vacant Houses upon the best Terms he could and
receive the Rents due at Michaelmas last and had requested the
Treasurer to settle with the Shadwell Company for some arrears
due for supplying the premises with water And to make such Agreemt.
with them in future as he should think proper

That the Committee had ordered the Clerk to serve Messr. Mount and
Johnson with a Copy of a Writ unless their Rent was paid at the
Stewards Office agreeably to the Covenants in their Lease on or before
the 30th. Novemr.

And Resolved that Charles Bevan< no role > late Apprentice to Roger Owen< no role >
Should be reported for Mr. Locks Gift And that Robert Lambert< no role >
James Wilkins< no role > and John Orange< no role > should be made free .

The Minutes of the Prison Committee of the 13th. August and the 12th. and
25th. November were read whereby it appeared

That the Sub Committee on the 31st. July last had resolved to
suspend John Gearing< no role > the Superintendant of the Prisons for Miscon-
-duct until their next meeting And that in the mean time the Porter
and the Porters man should take care that the Prisoners were
properly employed.

That the Committee in August on the Petition of the said John
Gearing
< no role > Resolved that he should be permitted to resume his super
intendance of the Prisons till their next meeting in November and
that they had then Resolved he should be restored to his place of
Superintendant of the Prisons.

That information having been received from the Chamberlain
that Liquor and Provisions had been frequently introduced into
the Apprentice Cells The Committee had given to the Beadles strict
injunction to guard against such abuses.
