Continued Thursday 2nd. February 1792 .

Monro Thomas
resigned his Staff as a Governor


Whereas by an Order of Court of the 10th. of January last it was directed that
in future if any Governor should be appointed or Elected into any Office belonging
to these Hospitals with a Salary annexed he should immediately resign his Staff as
a Governor thereof. And Doctor Thomas Monro< no role > one of the Governors having
this day been Elected Physician to these Hospitals came into Court and resigned
his Office of Governor It is Thereupon Ordered that the said Doctor Thomas
Monro be and is hereby released and discharged from his said Office of Governors
of these Hospitals.

his Benefaction of 50 Guineas reported


At this Court Richard Clark< no role > Esquire Alderman Treasurer reported that he
had received of the Right Honorable Sir Richard Pepper Arden < no role > Knight Master of the
Rolls Fifty Guineas for the use of Bridewell and Bethlem Hospitals It was
moved and seconded that the thanks of this Court be given to Sir Richard
Pepper Arden
< no role > for his kind and Charitable Donation.

Robert Bland< no role > Mr. D
Nominated a Governor


At this Court the following Gentleman was Nominated by George
Stubbs
< no role > Esquire to be a Governor of these Hospitals Vizt. Robert Bland< no role > of
Saint Alban Street Pall Mall M. D . It is Ordered that the consideration
of this Nomination be referred to the Committee of this House who are
desired to make their Report therein to this Court.

At this Court the following Gentleman was Nominated by John
Shadwell Horton
< no role > Esquire to be a Governor of these Hospitals Vizt: Mr. Edward
Spencer
< no role > of Earl Street It is Ordered that the Consideration of this
Nomination be referred to the Committee of this House who are desired to
make their Report therein to this Court.

Treasurer reported that he had given
directions for purchasing £3052.10s.0d
3 per Cent reduced Annuities and that the
same had been transferred in the names of the
Resident Treasurer and Auditor Genl.

Richard Clark< no role > Esqr . Alderman Treasurer reported that he had given
directions for purchasing £3052. 10 Bank 3 per Cent reduced Annuities
and that the same had been transferred accordingly in to the names of the
President Treasurer and Auditor General In Trust for Bridewell Hospital
Mr. Treasurer likewise informed the Court that Mr. Thomas Margary one of the
Governors who purchased the said Stock had not charged any commission for
the same and that he had offered at any time either to purchase or sell Stock for
these Hospitals without charging commission And this Court being also informed
that Mr. John Maddison< no role > another of the Governors had made the like offer
Whereupon a Motion was made and seconded that the thanks of this Court be
given to Mr. Margary and Mr. Maddison for their kind and benevalent
proposal and the Question being put it was carried in the Affirmative
Whereupon the thanks of this Court were given to Mr. Margary and Mr.
Maddison accordingly.

Anderson William to be paid £10
out of Mr. Lock's Gift


John Baker< no role > Esqr . one of the Governors reported that he had in pursuance of an
Order of Court of the 10th. of January last made an Inquiry and found that
William Anderson< no role > late Apprentice to Thomas Dunn< no role > was set up for himself and
has the character of a Diligent and Sober Man It is Ordered that the Stewart
do pay the said William Anderson< no role > Ten pounds out of Mr. Lock's Gift to be
him in his next account.
