Certificate on giving 3 securities
for £200
is a Native of that Country. That your Petitioner and her
Husband being attached to his Majesty and the British Governmt
they left Georgia in 1776 when the Civil War broke out there and
went to Saint Augustine
in East Florida
where they resided until
some Time after Georgia was reduced by the Kings Troops when
they removed to Dominica and continued there until her Husband
became a Lunatic and unable to follow his Profession on which your
Petitioner embarked for this Country and arrived here about 2 Months
ago with her Husband and Children but never gained any
Settlement. That your Petitioner is reduced to the greatest Distress
having three Children and being for advanced in her Pregnancy and
quite unable to support the Expence of having her Husband confined
in a private Madhouse. Humbly Prays your Worships
will be pleased to give Directions for his being received as a Patient
in your Hospital of Bethlem
without a Certificate Your Petitioner
hereby Offering and agreeing to give such Security for receiving
him again when discharged from that Hospital as your Worships
shall think proper And your Petitioner shall ever Pray Etc. It
is Ordered that the said Henry Finlayson< no role >
be admitted a
Patient
in Bethlem Hospital upon three Persons becoming Sureties
by Bond to the Treasurer in the Penalty of £200 with the usual
Condition of Bonds given for other Patients admitted into the said
Hospital.
Beadles to be paid 5 Guineas
wch Annually as a Christmas

Upon Reading the humble Petition of the Beadles of
Bridewell Hospital
Settingforth That your Petitioners and their
Prodecessors have immemorially received Perquisites of the Governors
at Christmas and as the Beadles of the other Hospitals are allowed
something in Lien thereof Your Petrs. humbly Pray that your Worships
will be Pleased to take the same into Consideration and Grant your Petrs.
such compensation as your Worships shall think reasonable This
Court having duly weighed and Considered the said Petition is of
Opinion that in future the Beadles be paid annually five Guineas
each by the Clerk to Commence at Christmas last in lien of the Gratuties
hitherto given them by the Governor's of these Hospitals.
