and figures - "Thursday the 18th" - and the Question being
put it passed in the Affirmative.

Duty and Salary
declared


Upon Reading a Minute of the House and
Bethlem Committees bearing date the 29th. day of December
last in the Words and figures following. - "In Pursuance
of an Order of Court bearing date the 29th. day of Mary 1775
whereby It was Ordered that upon a Vacancy of any Officer
Servant or Artsmaster before the same be filled up it be referred
to the House Committee and Bethlem Committee to consider
what are or ought to be the Duty Salary and Perquisites of
such Officer Servant or Artsmaster and to draw up in writing
and report the same to the General Court and in Pursuance
of another Order of Court bearing date the 20th. Day of December
last whereby It was Ordered that it should be referred to the
House Committee and Bethlem Committee to take into
Consideration what will be the best mode of recompensing the
Surveyor employed in the Service of these Hospitals and
report the same to the Court. These Committees having
taken the said Orders into Consideration are of Opinion That
the Duty of the Surveyor ought to be from time to time as he
shall receive Directions from a General Court or the House
or Bethlem Committee to Survey all Buildings belonging to
these Hospitals to prepare Plans thereof and to report what
repairs Alterations or new Exections are proper to be done
and also to Survey all Estates belonging to these Hospitals
to Measure and Map the same and generally to Give every
Information and Assistance in his Power in all matters
relating to the Buildings and Estates of these Hospitals
and whenever any Work is Ordered to be done in or about
such Buildings & Estates to Attend the same and see it
duly Executed and Examine the Bills of the several Workmen
employed and report to the said Committees his Opinion
thereon and to do all such Duties as are Included in the
Business and Employment of a Surveyor And these
