Continued Thursday 25th. Novr. 1779.

therein mentioned for the Government of the said Hospital
and by the same Letters Patent also Ganted to the said Mayor
and Commonally and Citizens of the said City and to their
Successors the Keeping Order and governors of his House and
Hospital called Bethlem situated without and hard by Bishopsgate
of the said City of London and all Manors Lands Tenements and
Hereditaments thereto belonging and the same Mayor and
Commonally and Citizens of the City aforesaid and their Successors
made Ordained and Constituted Masters Keepers and governors
of the said House and Hospital called Bethlem and of the Manors
Lands and Hereditaments thereto belonging To held to the
aforesaid Mayor and Commonally and Citizens of the aforesaid City
and their Successors for ever for the uses and Intentions in and
upon the foundation thereof ordained and provided or by the
same King his Heirs and Successors thereafter to be ordained and
Provided.

That by another Grant or Letters Patent dated 26th. of
June in the 7th. Year of King Edward the Sixth the same
King Granted to the said Mayor and Commonally and Citizens
All that his Majestys Manor Chief Messuage Tenement and
Mansion House called Bridewell alias Bridewell place with
diverse Lands Tenements and Hereditaments thereunto belonging
and also diverse other Manors Messuages Lands Tenements and
Hereditaments in the City of London and Countys of Middlesex
Essex Hertford Bucks Cambridge Kent Derby and York therein
particularly mentioned and described and then of the yearly
Value of £450. and no more To hold to and to the use of the
said Mayor and Commonally and Citizens and their Successors
for ever and his Majesty King Edward by the same Letters
Patent Ordained that the Hospitals therein mentioned when
this founded and Established should be one Body Corporate and
Politic for ever and shod. be called by the Name of the governors
of the Possessions Revenues and Goods of the Hospitals of Edward
the Sixth King of England (that is to say) Christ Bridewell and
