Continued Wednesday 13th. May 1778.

Monday the Twenty seventh day of April in the eighteenth
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third King
of Great Britain Etc. Before Sir James Esdaile< no role > Knight Mayor
of the City of London Frederick Bull< no role > Esquire one of the
Aldermen of the said City, John Glynn< no role > Serjeant at Law
Recorder of the said City Nathaniel Thomas< no role > Esquire , George
Hayley
< no role > Esquire , Thomas Wooldridge< no role > Esquire other of the
Aldermen of the said City and others their Fellows Justices of our
said Lord the King Assigned to keep the Peace of our said
Lord the King within the said City and also to hear and
determine divers Felonies Trespasses and other Misdeeds
committed within the said City.John Feller< no role > being
brought before this Court by the Porter of Bridewell Hospital
London standing Committed into his Custody in the
House of Correction there by Virtue of a Warrant under the
Hand and Seal of Evan Pugh< no role > Esquire one of His Majesties
Justices of the Peace for the said City bearing date the Twenty
second day of April Instant being charged before him by the
Oath of William Payne< no role > This name instance is in set 2582. for placing himself in Saint Pauls
Church Yard in the Parish of Saint Gregory by Saint
Pauls within the said City to gather Alms and for wandring
abroad and lodging in the open Air there and not giving a good
Account of himself which the said Evan Pugh< no role > adjudged to be
true and did therefore adjudge him to be a Rogue and
Vagabond there to be kept to hard Labour until this
present Session of the Peace (being the next after his
Commitment) This Court upon strict examination of the
Circumstances of the Premises doth hereby adjudge the said
John Feller< no role > a Rogue and Vagabond within the true Intent
and meaning of the Statute in this behalf made and Provided
And doth thereupon Order the said John Feller to be detained
and kept safe in the House of Correction of Bridewell Hospital
aforesaid to hard Labor for the space of Six Months now
next ensuing and at the expiration of the said Six Months to
be sent and passed to the place of his last legal Settlement."
