"In Pursuance of an Order of Court of the 12th. of December last this
Committee met this day to consider of a Report to be made of a Gentleman
Nominated at the said Court to be a Governor of Bridewell & Bethlem
Hospitals and are of Opinion the Gentleman hereafter named is a very
proper Person to be a Governor of these Hospitals if the Court shall think
fit Vizt. John Shadwell Horton< no role > Esqr . Distaff Lane Nominated
by Samuel Salt< no role > Esqr . All which is nevertheless Submitted to the
Judgment of the Court And it is Ordered that this Opinion be
reported to the next Court." This Court having duly weighted and
Considered the said Report doth Confirm the same and It is Ordered
that a Staff be sent to the said Mr. Horton forthwith.

At this Court Rice James< no role > Esqr . of Berners Street and Mr.
Philip Bell< no role > of Saint Pauls Church Yard were Appointed governors
of these Hospitals by the Right Worshipful Sir Walter Rawlinson< no role > knt .
and Aldn (President pursuant to an Order of Court dated 29th. May 1779
And It is Ordered that Slaves be sent to the said Mr. James and
Mr Bell forthwith.

Upon Reading the Humble Petition of Mrs. Elizth Mc Currie< no role >
of Saint Martins Lane in the County of Middlesex Baker in the words
and figures following Vizt. "That by a Contract or Agreement in
Writing bearing date the 22d. day of July 1767 Your Worships agreed to
Demise to your Petitioner All that Message or Tenement situate in
Saint Martins Lane in the parish and County aforesaid in the Possession
of your Petitioner To hold the same unto your Petitioner for the Term
of 21 Years to Commence at Christmas then next at the Yearly Rent of
£20.. payable Quarterly. That your Petitioner hath agreed with
Mr. John Elder< no role > of the Strand Baker to Assign over to him all her
Interest and benefit in the said Lease and praying that the same
may be made to the said John Elder< no role > for the residue of the said Term
This Court having duly weighed and Considered the said
Petition doth Order that the Lease be made to the said John Elder< no role > for
the residue of the said Term according to the Prayer of the said
Petition.
