Report of Committee as to
having Lighting & the Street
leading to the Bridge


Upon Reading a Report from the Committee to whom it
was referred to take such Measures as they should Judge Necessary
in Relation to an Application now made for an Act to Pave Cleanse
and light that part of the Great Street leading from Fleet Street to
Blackfriers Bridge in the Words and figures following" Whereas
by an Order of Court bearing date the 2d. of March Instant it
was referred to John Bowdler< no role > Esqr . Charles Henry Talbot< no role > Esqr . Joseph
Eyre
< no role > Esqr . Arthur Annesley< no role > Esqr . Thomas Nixon< no role > Esqr . Edward Bridgen< no role > Esqr
and Alexander Allen< no role > Esqr . whereof three to be a Quoram to take such
Measurers as they should Judge Necessary in relation to the Application
now made for an Act to Pave Cleanse and light that part of the Grant
Street leading from Fleet Street to Blackfriers Bridge which lies
within Bridwell Precint or any part of the said Precinct In Pursuance
of the said Order We whose Names are hereunto Subscribed did meet
a Sub Committee of sewers and Pavements this day at Guildhall
when the following Proposals were made by us on behalf of Bridewell
Hospital Vizt.

That the governors shall Pay to the Commisssioners of Sewers
and Pavements the Sum of fifteen Pounds Annually in full for
the Lighting Cleansing and Paying the Street from the Corner of
Bride Lane to the South end of the Chapel & that the Commissioners
