26. November 1767 Upon hearing James Manby< no role > Esqr to whom a
Building Lease was agreed to be Granted of a Parcel of Land on the
South Side of Wapping Street on the 22d May 1765 requesting that
such Lease May be Granted to Mr John Stray< no role > Biscuit Baker his
Nephew and upon Reading the Report of the Surveyor of this
Hospital Dated the 21 Novr. Instant where by it appears the said
James Manby< no role > has Expended £2400 in Building three Substantial
Brick Houses with Warch on [..] es & Workshops instead of £2000 agreed
to be Expended there on by said Contract It is the Opinion of this
Committee that the request of the said James Manby< no role > is reasonable and
ought to be Complied with if the Court shall think proper And it is
Ordered that the same be reported to the next General Court "It is
Ordered that the same Report be and the same Report is here by
Confirmed And that a Lease of the above Premises be made to the
said 'John Stray< no role > pursuant to the request of the said James Manby< no role >
