The Ward of Coleman Street
on behalf of themselves and there st of the Inhabitants of the
said Ward was referred to this Comittee in Order to Consider the Same and report their Opinion
thereon to the Court This Committee have proceeded to view that part of the Area Between
this Hospital and London Wall
Extending 30 feet in Length from West to East and in Depth
a bout 9 feet from North to South desired by the said Memorial to be granted in Order to
Erect a Watchhouse for the Use of the said Ward thereon or on some part there of And this
Comittee have Examined Doctor

who Declare that the Spot of Ground above Described being Under or Very Near the
Infirmary and Contiguous to a Dozen or more of the Cells of this Hospital The Patients
will in their Several Opinions be greatly Affected and prejudrced by the Noise which must
Necessarily Attend a Watch house a sit is absolutely Necessary in all Cases of Lunacy
and Accute Diseases that the Patients should be kept Extreamly Quiet It is the Opinion
of this Committee that the Grant Prayed by the said Memorial will be Inconvenient
and Prejudicial to the Patients as will the Erection of any Watch house so near the said
Hospital Especially in Case of Fire The Window thereof not being Glazed and the Patients
lying upon shaw All which is Nevertheless Submitted to the Court
This Court having duly Weighed and Considered the said Report doth Confirm the
Same.

Do Pay unto them forty Shillings a piece to be allowed him in his Next Account
