Upon Reading a Report from the Comittee of this House dated the
the 5th. day of Febry 1755 under the hands of Robert Alsop< no role > Esqr. Aldn. Treas

Proposal was read of Mr. Thos. Peacock< no role > (referr'd by the Court 17. Janry. last)
To take a Lease of the House in Occupation of Mr Holditch (No. 36)
& of the House Adjoining (No. 37) formerly the Crooked Billet in
Bridewell Precinct for 21 years from Michas next at £8 P Ann Rent
clear of Taxes & to pay a Fine of £50 & to lay out £250 in Necessary
Repairs and to have the Key of the Crooked Billet at the Concluding
this Agreement & the Key of Mr. Holditches House at Lady day next
And Mr. Peacock being called in he said he wou'd make the
Rent £10 & being called in a 2d. time said he cou'd not Give any more
Whereupon the Comittee having Consider'd the same are of Opinion
to Grant a Lease to the said Thomas Peacock of the sd. 2 houses for
21 years from Michaelmass next at £10. P Ann rent clear of Taxes &
£50 Fine to be paid at next Lady day & to lay out £250 in Repair
within 3 years under the Inspection of the Hospitals Surveyor
According to the particulars now delivered in & Signed & Signed by him
And he being Acquainted therewith Gave two Guineas to the Poors
boxAll which is Nevertheless Submitted to the Judgment of the
CourtThis Court haveing duly weighed & Considered the sd. Report
Doth Confirm the same And Order that a Lease be made to the
Thomas Peacock Accordingly.

were chosen Stewards for the next Election Day of these Hospitalls
who are desired to Provide a Dinner at their own bien Venue for
the President Treasurer and Governors to Dine together According to
Ancient Custom And in Case any of the Stewards Elected decline or
refuse the same the Clerk is to Supply the Number in Course.
