At this Court the Charge a was read to Mr. William
Kindleside

Hogarth Mr. Wm. Elected Govr

This Court doth Elect Mr. William Hogarth< no role > to be one of
the Governors of these Hospitals and Order that a Staff be
forth with sent to him Notwithstanding the Order of Court the
29th. of April 1748.

Upon Reading a Report from the Committee of this House dated
the 14th. Feby instant under the hands of Robert Alsop< no role > Esqr Aldr :
Trears Dr. Richd Rawlinson< no role > Edwd. Umfreville< no role > Esq Mr. Thomas
Gordon
< no role > Mr Deputy John Clarke< no role > Mr. Samuel Southouse< no role > Mr John
Forty
< no role > and Richard Roman< no role > Esq as follows ViztIn Pursuance
of an Order of Court the 17th. day of Janry last at having been Several
times Published in the Daily and Genl. Advertizers that 8 Houses &
Ground in old Bethlem and 3 in Bishopsgate Street were to be let on
a building Lease(which premes were last let by the Govrs.
of Bethlem Hospital to Edwd Howard< no role > at rack rents under 3 Leases
(No. 17.18.19) with lately Expired)This Committee reced proposals
from the following persons ViztJohn Bosworth< no role > of Kingstreet
Bloomsbury Edward Gibbs< no role > of Old Bethlem Thomas Jornegan< no role >
of old Broad street Samuel Meller< no role > of Peters Street Bishops-
-gate Street and Edward Oakley< no role > of Johns Street Golden Square
And this Committee having Considered the said respective
Proposals are unanimously of Opinion to Accept the proposal
of the said Thomas Jornegan which is as follows ViztTo take
a Lease of the premes for 61 years from Lady day next whereof the two first years
to be Allowed for building and for the residue of the sd form to pay
£40 a year rent clean of Taxes and also to pay £200 for the Old
Materials and to build five houses and lay out Two thousand pounds
All which is Nevertheless Submitted to the Judgment
of the Court And it is Ordered that this Opinion be reported to the
next CourtThis Court having duly Weighed and Considered the
said Report Doth Confirm the same And Order that a Lease be made
Accordingly to the said Thomas Jornegan with usual Covenants
He Executing a Counter part thereof.

Upon Reading the Proposals of Ralph Thrale< no role > of
Southwarke Esq Setting forthThat he proposes to
take a Lease with usual Covenants of the Magpye Alehouse and
the Two Houses Adjoining in Bishopsgate Street for 21 Years from
Midsumer last at £55 a year next clear of Taxes and to lay out Three
hundred pounds in repairsIt is Ordered that the sd. proposals
be referred to the Comittee of this House to Consider thereof & Report
that Opinion thereon to the Court.
