Upon reading the humble Petition of William Cooke< no role > Citizen and Weaver of
London He was elected one of the Artsmasters of this Hospital in the room of Phillip
Gill
< no role > who resignd And it is Order'd that (upon delivering a Certificate of his
Settlement to the Clerk and producing a Copy of his Freedom of this City) he be admitted
an Artsmaster of this Hospital untill the next Election day giving Security as usual
and entering into the usual Covenants with a Convenant to be added that he will not set up
or use any Engine Looms in this Hospital and that the Journeymen which he shall empty
in his said Trede shall be such as have served their apprenticeships in this Hospital
And it is further Order'd that he have the said Phillip Gills< no role > Apartmt.

Upon reading the humble Petition of Benjamin Thatcher< no role > Weaver one of
the Artsmasters of this Hospital settingforthThat he had been an Artsmaster of
this Hospital upwards of 14 years and has now 6. Apprentices, that not having Sufficient
room in the House wherein he now lives for the carrying on of his trade and Mr. Phillip
Gill
< no role > one of the Artsmasters of this Hospital having resiged his said place, he prayd that
he might have the said Mr. Gill's Apartment instead of the House wherein he now held
It is Order'd that the said Petition be rejected.

Upon Reading a Report from a Committee of all the Governors for the new
Building for Incurables at Bethlem Hospital of the 19th. Instant under the hands of
John Tayler< no role > Esqr . Treasurer Mr. Stephen Aynsworth< no role > Mr. Nathaniel Wolfrys< no role >
Mr. James Phillips< no role > Mr. Edward Dod< no role > and marmaduke Alington< no role > Esqr . as follows
Vizt.This Comittee met in pursuance of an Order of the last Court whereby
a Report of the Comittee for the new building for Incurables at Bethlem Hospital of
the third Instant was recomitted to this Comittee and the same being read as follows Vizt.
Mr. Treasurer acquainting the Comittee That there is already about £2000.
more due from the Hospital on account of the said Building then has been given for that
purpose This Comittee are of opinion that towards Carrying on and finishing the intended
Building for Incurables a Sum not exceeding of £5,000. principal money be borrowd
by the Governors of this Hospital on Bonds under their Comen Seal at Interest not
exceeding the rate of £4 P cent P AnnAnd this Comittee having naturely
weighd and considerd the same Doth uanimously agree therewith And it is Orderd
that this be Reported to the next CourtAnd this Comittee are of opinion that in
order to the promoting and encouraging the said intended Charity a Number of were Patients
not exceeding ten be admitted into the Hospital for Incurables as soon as Conveniently
can be doneAnd it is Order'd that this Opinion be also reported to the next
Court and that the President be desird to hold a Court this day Sennight This
Court having duely weighd and considerd the said Report doth agree to and confirm
the same And it is Order'd that the money be taken up rely as there shall be
occasion for the same from time to time.

Mr. Treasurer acquainted this Court that Mr. Alderman Bernard at the
last Comittee holden for the Incurables at Bethlem Hospital had subscribed £100.
towards the finishing of the said Building.
