18th July 1723.

Building such Appartments and to forward the Application that has been already made from
this Court to the Lord Mayor Alderman and Comons of this City for a peice of Ground in
Moorfeilds Adjoyning to the said Hospital in Order to Enlarge the same and to make it more
Convenient as well for Curatly as Incurable PatientyAnd a Comittee was
accordingly Appointed ViztCorrectly of [..] for ex [..] a Plarge The President Treasurer & Auditor General

give Directions for the Building some Appartments for Incurables in such manner as they or any
five of them (whereof the President Treasurer or Auditor General to be one ) shall
think proper with regard to the present Circumstances of the said Hospital and to Lay a
Plan for the further Inlargement thereof in Case it shall please God to Incline the hearts of
well disposed Persons to Contribute to this Undertaking which seems to be the only necessary
Charity for which no Establishment is made in this Noble CityAnd the said [..]
Comittee are desired to Report their Proceedings herein from time to time to this Court

Elected Artsmaster


Mr Samuel Ballard< no role > one of the Governor of these Hospital Reporting to
this Court that Mr Harrison and he in Persuance of an Order of the last Court had made
Inquiry of the Character and Ability of John West< no role > Junr Weaver who petition'd the last Coat
to be Elected an Artsmaster of this Hospital And that they find He has the Character of
an honest Industrious Man and is a Man of Good BusinessAnd the Question
being put that the said John West< no role > be Elected on Artsmaster of this Hospital He was
Nemim Contradicente Elected an Artsmaster till the next Election day And it
is Ordered that the said John West< no role > be Admitted accordingly upon his giving the
Security as usual and entring into the usual Covenants with a Covenant to be Added
that he will not Set up or use any Enquire Looms in this Hospital and that the Journeyman
which he shall Employ in his said Trade shall be such as have Served their Apprenticeship in
this Hospital And it is further Ordered That he have such Appartment in this
Hospital as The Comittee of this Hospital shall Direct

Stewardsfor Election Feast to
to appointed at first Court
after Lady day


Ordered That the Stewards for the Election Feast be Appointed
at the first Court after Lady day yearly and that Helice be forthwith Just to 'em
of the said Appointment

after a Purchase for his Legany
of £500 to Bethlem


Mr Treasurer putting this Court in mind of the Legacy of £500
given to Bethlem Hospital by the Will of Edward Colsten< no role > Esqr which is not to be paid
till the Governors have Agreed for Lands Rents and Tenements to that Value but the
Interest thereof is by the said Well to be in the mean time Apply'd to his Personal Estate
The Governors an Desired to Inquire for a proper Purchase and in Case the same
shou'd Account to something more then £500 It is Ordered That the
Sume be made up out of the Cash of then Hospitals
