13th. Janry 1715.

And the Said Mr Bates and Mr. Southwood were Severally
called in and acquainted that the Governours would not
Grant a Lease of the Said premisses for a Longer Term
than Forty Nine years and a Quarter of a year which
will expire at ye Same time with their Leases of the Ground
adjoyning and then were desired to withdraw & Reconsider
their Proposals and Let the Comittee know the most
they would give And Mr. Southwood being called in again
Said the utmost he would offer was Four hundred & Twenty
Five pounds Fyne and Fifty pounds P Anum Rent and to
be obliged within Seven years next ensueing to Lay out
Seven hundred pounds in Rebuilding and he being wth. drawn
Mr Bates was called in and Said the utmost he would offer
was Four hundred and Fifty pounds Fyne and Fifty pounds
P Anum Rent and to be obliged to Lay out Eight hundred
pounds in Rebuilding and repaireing the premisses within
Ten years now next ensueing This Comee haveing
considered both the said proposals are of Opinion to
accept the proposeal of the said Mr Bates and to Grant
him a Lease of the said premisses upon the Terms he
offers for Forty Nine years and one Quarter of a year
to Comence from Lady day LastThis Court
doth Confirme the Same And it is Orderd That A
Lease be made unto the said [..] Wm. Bates accordingly

Mr. Treasr . Taylor Reported to this Court That he
with the rest of the Gentlemen appointed by ye Court had
waited upon Thomas Hall< no role > Esqr with a Staff & returned
him the thanks of this Court for His nobble Benefaction to
these Hospitals and asked him if he would give any particular
directions as to the disposeal thereof to which he Answered
that he left it intirely to the Governours with whose Managmt.
he was very well Satisfyed and that he thanked Court for the Honor
they had done him in Electing Him one of the Governours
