Insurance to be made
on ye hospital houses not
Let by Lease}


Upon Reading a Report from the Comee of this house dated
the 8th: day of this instant July as followes vizt. It is the
Opinion of this Comee that Insureance be made upon all the
houses belonging to these hospitals which are not Let by Lease
It is Ordered That it be Referred to the Comee of this House
to make insureance from fire upon the houses belonging to
these hospitals which are not Let by Lease in Such Office or
offices and to Such value as they Shall think proper and likewise
to consider what may be fitt to be done in relation to the Insuring
Such houses as are Let by Lease and to Report their Opinion
therein to the Court.

hands of John Tayler< no role > Esqr . Trear sr . Samuel Clarke< no role > , Mr Samuel Keble< no role >
Mr. Depty Robt. Stamper< no role > & Mr John Shelton< no role > dated ye 8th. day of this instant
July in the words following vizt. Mr. John Hawkes< no role > of Wapping in ye County
of Middx Bailmaker proposed to take a new Lease of a house in
Wapping (which he now holds) for 41. years to Comence from Lady day
last at the Rent of Twenty Shillings P Annu. & to pay fifteen pounds
for a fine but if ye Ground from ye Bread backward be not added to make
a Strait Line from ye Street then he is to pay Ten pounds Fyne
This Comee are of Opinion to accept ye sd proposal This Court doth
confirme ye sd Report and Order that a Lease be made accordingly to
ye sd John Hawkes< no role >

of ye Covents. in his Lease in
Fowks Court on paying

Comee in pursuance of an Order of ye Last Court agreed wth. Mr Joseph Mayre< no role >
Tenant of one of yd houses lately burnt in Fowks Court to accept of a Surrender
of his Lease & Discharge him of his Rent & Covenants from Christmas Last upon
his paying down Four hundred pounds & to Let him a New Lease of ye house
that Shall ne new built under ye same Rent & Covenants & for ye like Terme
as were menconed in his former Lease if he desires it

Mr. Henry Burlace< no role > attended & insisted on his former proposal
made to ye Comee ye 21th. day of June last

Mr. Stephen Scott< no role > attended and desired a Copy of ye Case and
time to advise with his Councel

Mr. John Simpson< no role > did not attend tho. he had notice of this (Meeting
of ye Comee But this Comee cannot proceed any further with the Tenants
because there is a Bill depending in Parliament for erecting a Court to
determine differences touching ye houses & buildings burnt demolished or defaced
in or near Thames Street This Court doth approve & Confirme ye said
agreement made with the said Joseph Mayne< no role >
