13th May 1715.

That the Great Number of Apprentices brought up in the hospital
in the Engine Trade have been a great means of impoverishing
the Journey men brought up in the Citty and Suburbs and occasiond
a great ClamourThat tho the Mars. have been often Sohcited
by the Out Journey men to agree not to employ any person bred
up in this hospital yet in respect to the Governours & Compassion
to the boys the Mars have not come to any Such agreement
not doubting but when the said Greweance Should be laid before
the Governours the would redress the same by Lynntting as well
the Number of Engine Weavers to be taken into this hospital as
the number of Apprentices they Shall keep.

The Petition of a great number of Journey men Engine Weavers on
behalfe of themselves and the rest of their fraternity being the
Same in Substance wth the said Representation And praying
that the Court will be pleased to Redress the Greweances in Such
manner as in their Judgment Shall Seem meet

The Petition of Severall Journeymen Engine Weavers who were
brought up under the Severall artsmars in this hospital praying
the Court to use Such meanes as they Shall think fitt to present
the admittance of Mr Hooker into this hospital as well as all other from
advanceing that Branch of the weaveing Trade more than what
already is which if ust Speedily remedyed Such Boys as are
now bringing up in this hospital as well as the Petrs must
inevitably perish for count of employ
