the sd. money and Seems as likely to maintaine himselfe and
Family without being any charge to the sd hospll. or the
prcinct thereof Then Mr Trear doe also give and pay
unto him the further Sume of Five pounds at such time
and in such manner as he shall think fitt to be allowed

''Also This Comittee being Informed That the Rents in the
Precinct of Bridewell (wth. are the greatest part of the sd
Hosplls. revenue) are of late yeares Extremely fallen And
that the sd precinct is growne to soe great disrepute
That very few people are willing to live therein And the
poor of the sd. precinct grow dayly more numerous And there
being nor poor's rate as in other places the Inhabitants are
not able to maintaine them And considering which may
be the best way to bring the sd. precinct into its former
reputacon are of Opinion That in ordr. to Effect the same
two able watchmen be chosen to watch therefrom
nine a clock in the Evenings [..] to Six in the MorningsEveningin the
winter Season And from 10: in the Evenings to 5 in the
morning in the Sumer Season And That Forty Shillings
a Quarter be Allowed by this Hospll: towards the defraying
the charge thereof And further this Comittee considr:ing
That the greatest part of the poor in the sd precinct have
come out of the sd hospll. being Children of Artsmars. and
Officers who dyed there are of Opinion That the Trear of
the sd hospll: doe give and pay unto the Chaple wardens
of the sd precinct for the Time being yearly and every
year during the pleasure of the Court The Sume of Foure
pounds a Quarter one quarter next and Imediately
Ensueing Each other towards the Maintaining the poore of
the sd precinct To be Allowed Mr Trear in his Accompts

own bond.


Also Willm Elsley< no role > pinmaker an Antient Artsmars . of
this Hospll. Applying to this Comittee for Some Releife
in regard for many yeares he has kept his full complimt
of boys but by badness of Trade and dearness of provissions
he has wasted his Stock and is not able to carry on his sd
trade tho' he now has 4 boys and this Comittee being
Informed That the sd. Wm. Elsley< no role > is now Indebted to the
sd. hospll: in Thirty pounds For wch: out Mr. Harris is
Security who offers to pay £15: in part of the sd. Debt And
desires the same may be laid out for and Lent to the sd
Elsley on his owne bond This Comittee are of opinion that the same be Accepted from
the sd. Mr. Harris accordingly And in Ordr to prserve the
sd. Elsley and his Family from Raine the same be Laid out
in wire for his use And that there he doe give his owne
bond for the same payable in 12: months without
