Alsoe upon ye: humble: peticon of Margarett Gipps< no role > a poore Widdowe shewing ye.
Shee was borne in Bridewell Hospitall her father haveing lived an Arts master
there neare 40: yeares and that She was an Arts masters wife in ye. Sd Hospitall
above 36: yeares and for maney yeares togeather kept 14 Apprentices, That
her last Husband Joseph Gipps< no role > consumed and Spent all the Peticors. goods
and estate in his life time and dyeing left her in a most miserable poore
condicon being neare 70: yeares of Age and both blinde and same and
noe freinds in ye: World to apply herselfe to for Subsistance and now She
is utterly disabled to pvide for herselfe and therefore praying such
releife and weekely alloweance as to this Court in Charity to ye. poore
condicon should see me meete Whereupon it is ordered by this Court
that Mr Trear doe give and pay unto ye: Said Margarett Gipps< no role > ye:
Sume of two Sillings and Six pence on every Munday morneing
untill Christmas next come twelve Months to bee allowed Mr Trear
in his accounts.

< no role > late Porter of ye. Hospitall of Bridewell Sheweing that ye: Peticor.
Husband had ye. misfortune to bee afflicted wth: Lunacy for above 4:
yeares before hee dyed which was extreamely chargeable to ye: Peticoner and
has reduced her to very mean and poore Circumstances That ye:
Peticoner is now destitute of any Imploymt: and being very aged and infirme
is noe way able to doe any thing whereby to gett her livelyhood That her
Husband att his owne charge painted ye: Parlor in ye: Porters House
and made 2: Closetts and Sevall other alteracons which cost him
a considerable Sume of money and for which hee never had any alloweance
Whereupon this Court haveing duely weighed and considered of ye:
matters of ye: said Peticon doe thinck fitt and soe order that Mr: Trear
doe give and pay unto ye: said Susanna Walker< no role > the Sume of five pounds as a
free gratuity of this Court as well in respect of her poverty of sd ye,
money laid out by her said Husband on ye: Prmisses aforesaid to bee
allowed Mr: Trear in his next account

Mr: John Slaughter< no role > (two of ye: Governors : of these Hospitalls) that upon
inquiery they doe finde that Thomas Mende< no role > who was brought upp an
Apprentice wth: William Browne< no role > late an Artsmaster of Bridewell
Hospitall and Since made a freeman of this Citty by ye. approbacon
of this Court is Sett Upp for himselfe in his trade of a weaver att ye:
