Barnard Goodchild < no role > . I do not know; the justice wrote something.

Q. Did she sign it ?

Barnard Goodchild < no role > . I cannot say.

Mary Goodchild < no role > . I am wife to the last witness. On the 29th of April I missed some silver out of my bureau; I had seen it about two hours before.

Q. When was it you saw it?

Marry Goodchild. As near as I can guess about the hours of three and four, and between four and five I missed it: the keys were found by the prisoner.

Q. What do you mean by by her?

Mary Goodchild < no role > . Down upon the ground by her.

Q. Did you leave your keys in your drawers?

Mary Goodchild < no role > . I did not; I had used my tea-chest not an hour before, and left them in that; there was money found upon the prisoner.

Q. Had she none before?

Mary Goodchild < no role > . No, she had none before.

Q. How do you know that?

Mary Goodchild < no role > . Because the day before I lent her 6 d. for the mending of her gown.

Q. Did you ever find any of your guineas again?

Mary Goodchild < no role > . No, I never did.

Judith Westby < no role > . I am servant in that house; I found the keys by the prisoner; she lay upon the ground.

Q. How came she to lay upon the ground?

Judith Westby < no role > . She was very much in liquor, and so tumbled down; the money lay by her; there was a half a crown and 3 s. 6 d.

Thomas Hankey < no role > . I lodged in this house.

Q. What business do you follow?

Thomas Hankey < no role > . I do not follow any.

Q. Have you been brought up to any business?

Thomas Hankey < no role > . Yes, to a distiller. The prisoner desired me to go up stairs with her, saying, she would find some of the money if she could: she found 3 s. 6 d. and gave it me in my hand, and I gave it her mistress; that is all I know.

Charles Rimington < no role > This name instance is in set 3232. . Mr. Goodchild acquinted me that he had been robbed; I spoke to the prisoner, and desired her to confess, saying, her master and mistress would not hurt her, but she did not.

The prisoner said nothing in her defence.

Acquitted .
