The Prosecutor depos'd, That about 12 a Clock at Night, the 20th of December, as he was passing along Lincolns-Inn Fields , he was attached by 3 Men, one of which clapt a Pistol to his Head, and he was pretty sure it was the Prisoner, and that they bid him deliver immediately, threatning if he spoke one Word, they would shoot him through the Head, that they turn'd him aside, and robb'd him of the Things mentioned in the Indictment. Jonathan Wild < no role > This name instance is in set 3033. depos'd, That Mr. Wasey came to him the next Morning, after the Fact was done, and acquainted him with the Robbery, and describing the Things, and also the Persons, he ask'd him if he was capable of knowing them again. To which he replyed, he thought he was, for they robbing him under a Lamp, he had a better Opportunity to observe them; that then he told Mr. Wasey, he did not know but he could give him some Account in 2 or 3 Days Time, for that he had heard that the 3 Persons he described, had furnished themselves with Pistols, as he supposed, for some such Uses. Upon this he sent for Peter Leeve < no role > , who came readily to him, he having promis'd him upon his Word and Honour, that he would let him come and go free; which be always punctually observes with these Gentlemen, or otherwise he could not be serviceable to the Publick. That Peter Leeve being come to him, he told him it was now his Time to Chuse whether to secure himself, or to be hang'd by his Accomplices. That thereupon he promising to send him Word when he might have an Opportunity to take one or both of his Accomplices, he let him go away; he sent him Word, and he took the Prisoner in the Company of Peter Leeve; and offering a Reward of five Guineas, he got Mr. Wasey's Watch, which was sent to him by a Porter. Peter Leeve depos'd, That the Prisoner, himself, and Edward Frazier, committed the Fact, and Allen the Prisoner took his Watch and Money; and some of the Things that were in the Tweezer-Case, were the next Morning in the Prisoner's Wife's Pocket. The Prisoner deny'd the Fact, or his knowing Peter Leeve. But the Fact being plainly prov'd the Jury found him guilty of the Indictment, Death .
