At the General Quarter Session of the peace of an Lord the King holden as
the Town Court house near Westmr. Hall in & for the Liberty of the Dean &
Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter Westmr. the City Borough and
Town of Westmr. in the County of Middx & St. Martiule grand London on
Wednesday the Fifth day of October in the Twenty Second year of the Reign of
our Sovereign Lord George the Second king of Great Britain Etc before
Richard Lilly< no role > Francis Burton< no role > James Fraser< no role > This name instance is in set 3480. Thomas Ellys< no role > Esquires
& other their fellows Justices of our said Lord the King Assigned to keep the
peace within the said Liberty And also to hear & determine divers Felonies
Trespasses & other misdeed done & committed within the said Liberty

Whereas by the Statute of the 12th. year of the Reign of his present Majesty King George
the Second Intituled An Act for the more easy Assessing Collecting & Levying of County
Rates It is Enacted that the Justices of the peace for the said City & Liberty of
Westmr. shall have full power to appoint the Governor or Master of the House of
Correction within the said City & Liberty of Westmr. who shall have the smu of
money Yearly as had been accustomed for & towards the Support and Maintenance
of the Prisoners in his Custody Etc not exceeding Fifty pounds by the year & direct the
Treasurer or TreasurersCounty of Middx to obey all Orders which shall be made
by the said Justices of the said City & Liberty or the greater part of them assembled
in their General Quarter Sessions for the payment of any sum or sums of money
for the allowance allotted to such Governor or Master of the House of Conection And
it appearing to this Court that there is due to Samuel Attersoll Master or
Governor of the said House of Correction the sum of Twenty five pounds for Half
a years Sallary due at Michaelmas last past It is Ordered and directed by this
Court That Mr. John Higgs< no role > Treasurer of the County of Middlesex do pay to the
said Samuel Attersoll< no role > the said sum of Twenty Five pounds for half a years Sallary
as Governor or Master of the said House of Correction and that his Receipt with
this Order shall be a sufficient discharge to the said Mr. John Higgs< no role > for the sum
