All the above Defendants jointly and Severally make Oath and Say
That they were brought to His Majesties Goal of Newgate
by Habeas
Corpus from Maidstone Goal last Tuesday and that they had no
Notice of their being Indicted or the prosecutors Intention to try them
this Sessions till last Night about ten of the Clock And that they have
not Time to prepare for Trial this Sessions And said Stephen

Deponent upon the Trial of this Indictment and that he cannot proceed
to the Trial thereof as this Sessions with safety without the Benefit of

in Princes Street
aforesaid to get him to appear for as a Witness for this

his Wife

went on Monday
last to Portsmouth
and that he would not return till the latter End of next
