Orders & Regulations made
on Mr Pryse proposals}


Upon reading a Minute of the Comee of this House of the 3d. day of May last as
follows Vizt. Mr. Pryse's proposals read, the first being done, and an Order being made by
the Court in relation to the second, the rest were agreed to be submitted to the Court and
to be reported to the next CourtIt is Ordered that the said proposals which were
laid before this Court the 12th. of April last be now read begining at the 3d.and the
said 3d. proposal being accordingly read

It is Ordered That the Rents & Annuitys of both Hospitals be collected as has been usual

The 4th. proposal being readIt is Ordered That the Clerk & Stewards of both
Hospitals do at least once in every Month lay before the Treasurer an Account of all
their receipts and Disbursements fairly entred in a Cash book to be provided for each
Hospital, and at such time severally pay over to the said Trear their respective Ballance

The 5th. proposal being readas follows, Vizt, That the Comee of Bethlem Hospital
for the time being do consider and report to the Court in what manner the poor Incurable
Patients may be cased of their Weekly paymentsThe same is Ordered accordingly

The 6th. & 7th. proposals being readIt is Ordered That the Comee of Bethlem
Hospital take into Consideration the House Expences as well for Physick as Provisions
and also the Fees taken at the Admission or discharge and during the continuance of
such Patients in the said Hospital and consult whether each or any of them can
reasonably be lessen'd and report their Opinion to the Court

And it is further Ordered That the Comee of Bridewell take into Consideration
the Charge of maintaining and employing the Prisoners and also the Fees taken at
their Admission or discharge & during their continuance in the said Hospital & consult
if each or either of them can reasonably be lessen'd & report their Opinion to the Court

The 8th. proposal being readIt is Ordered that all standing Orders relating
to each Hospital be forthwith collected & fairly entred in seperate Books to be kept at
each respective Hospital & lye on the Table at the Meeting of all General Courte and
Comittees for the perusal of the Governors, and that every officer of both Hospitals
have at the time of their admission a Copy of all the Orders relating to their Conduct
delivered to them for their Government

The 9th. proposal being readIt is Ordered That the Accounts of both
Hospitals be annually made up to Christmas within three Months after at furthest

Apprentice


At this Court Joseph Beecham Procter< no role > a poor boy was Ordered to be put out
Apprentice at the Nomination of Mr. Robert Henshaw< no role > .

Apprentices made free.}


At this Court the persons hereunder named were Ordered to be made free of this
City having served their Apprenticeships in this Hospital to the Artsmasters hereunto mentioned Vizt.

Upon reading the humble Petition of Charles Cecil< no role > This name instance is in set 3757. Weaver setting forthThat he
served his apprenticeship in this Hospital to Mr. William Phillips< no role > one of the
Artsmaster s by Indre dated the 4th. day of March 1730. and by an Order of Court
the 7th. of February 1738 . he was on the 17th. of April 1739. made free of this
City and is set up for himself in his said Trade athis own house next door
but one to the Golden ball in St. John Street Spittle fields And the Court
being informed that the Comittee of this House on the 20thday of June instant
inspected the Book kept of Apprentices behaviour and found no complaint
against himIt is Ordered that Mr John May< no role > Mr William Poole< no role > Mr Peter Roberts< no role >
three of the Governors of these Hospitals or any two of them be desired to inquire
whether the said Charles Cecil< no role > This name instance is in set 3757. be set up in his Trade and of his hopefullness
therein and to make their Report to the Court.
