Rebuilding the Church</note>

And the clause in the Act of Parliament menconed<lb></lb>
in the said report being read & debated It is further ordered<lb></lb>
that the said Comittee may pursuant to the said Act proceed<lb></lb>
in and concerning the rebuilding the said Church with as much<lb></lb>
expedicon as may be without disbursing any of the monies<lb></lb>
belonging to the house</p>

It is referred to the said Comittee to consider whether it<lb></lb>
be fitt to continue or take away the Thirty pounds per Ann<lb></lb>
or any part of it and how much which was added by a General<lb></lb>
Court the 22th: of August 1694 to the Apothecaries Sallary to<lb></lb>
continue dureing the Warr in regard of the dearness of some<lb></lb>
sort of Drugge and the great number of out Patients</p>

And whereas the parish Church of St: Thomas in Southwark<lb></lb>
is so much decayed that of necessity it must be rebuilt And it being<lb></lb>
incumbant upon the Hospital to Rebuild the same which after so<lb></lb>
great charge as the Governor. have bin at to Newbuild the Hospital<lb></lb>
itself they are not able to doe without expending a great part of<lb></lb>
that Revenue which now is laid out for the cure of sick and wounded<lb></lb>
Seamen and Soldiers which in great numbers together with other<lb></lb>
poor people are every year sent thither for help and releif Be it<lb></lb>
further enacted by the Authority aforesaid That a sum not exceeding<lb></lb>
Three Thousand pounds part of the duty hereby granted shall in<lb></lb>
Four years be paid towards the Building the said Church of St. Thomas<lb></lb>
aforesaid according to such direction as the prsident Treasurer and<lb></lb>
Governor of the said Hospital with allowance of the Oath Bishop of<lb></lb>
Canterbury the Bishop of London and the Lord Major of London<lb></lb>
for the time being or any two of their shall aprove & allow anything<lb></lb>
in this Act to the contrary in any wife notwithstanding</p>
