The favour of Yours of the 27th inst. came to hand on the 30th.<lb></lb>
To which I shall answer in a few words. If Gullives has<lb></lb>
finished the Work in a good & substantial manner, you are<lb></lb>
their at Liberty to settle with him his Account. As to our<lb></lb>
Surveyor coming down, it does not seem to be absolutely<lb></lb>
necessary besides, it will put us to more expence, and<lb></lb>
be really is of opinion, that Gullives understands his<lb></lb>
Business perfectly well, by what he has already seen<lb></lb>
with respect to the Wood which he hath built. And<lb></lb>
this without the best Direction of any Surveyor, if so,<lb></lb>
there is much more reason to imagine that he will<lb></lb>
<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
not be defficient here, when outing immediately<lb></lb>
under one. You mention your having reced a Your's<lb></lb>

to Lastey 1763, amounting to £57.<lb></lb>
which is 40s a years less than the Farm ever went at.<lb></lb>
Mr. Treasurer will not permit of the Reduction of the Rent<lb></lb>
in this Manner, it must continue at the old Rent of<lb></lb>
£59 as formerly, and M. King must give a Receipt for<lb></lb>
the 40s Allowed him for Firing, which is the self & same<lb></lb>
thing to him, and the old Rent by this means will be preserved<lb></lb>
It has a bad appearance at this time a day, to Decrease<lb></lb>
the Rent of Farms, the Value of Land at, the same time<lb></lb>
Increasing, which is a Know truth, almost to every one<lb></lb>
When you send me the Balance in your hands, it would<lb></lb>
be very agreeable to me of you could contrive to send<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
<lb></lb>
every Voucher relative to th e Account him which the said<lb></lb>
Balance arises. In a letter of years of 3d. Sepr. 1762, You mention<lb></lb>
there being 3 years Rent due from Gregory amounting to £162.<lb></lb>
& that the Ann you had Sold of Gregory's to King, fetched £100,<lb></lb>
that the Land tax Pd. by Gregory was £29.8. Quit Rent £14.2<lb></lb>
which falls short of the Rent said by him (for it can be by<lb></lb>
no body else) to be due £18.10. Jerald like to know how<lb></lb>
that Account now stands, for Jerald of Possible finally<lb></lb>
settle with Gregory, as King is now Tenant for the whole.</p>
