Your Letter of the 5th. inst has been in our Attorneys heard<lb></lb>
till Yesterday, when I reced it back again. The Governors<lb></lb>
are not fully determined what Course to take, to preserve<lb></lb>
their right & privilige, so they have Order'd me to<lb></lb>
Write, that untill such time they have Advised wth.<lb></lb>
Counsel, & taken such Steps, by which they may assure<lb></lb>
themselves & Success in this Affair, they consent<lb></lb>
that you may Pay the Collectors of the Land Tax<lb></lb>
the Money your Farm is Assessed at</p>

I wrote the other day to the Rev. Mr. Collyer, advising<lb></lb>
of the Allowance that the Grand Commee was pleased<lb></lb>
to Grant to you<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
& Mr Battyt towards Building<lb></lb>
to brick Stable & putting the premisses into Substantial<lb></lb>
Repair Whether you have heard from that Gentleman<lb></lb>
I know not, but non inclin'd to think, that you have,<lb></lb>
as the whole of the Correspondence on this Occasion has<lb></lb>
been carried on by Him, I looked upon it, as a thing of<lb></lb>
Course, that He had informed you of itit was not<lb></lb>
only to inform Him of the Order of the Commee with respect<lb></lb>
to the Money allowed you, but of the remainder of the<lb></lb>
Fine that is due, and desiing Him to press you to the<lb></lb>
remitting a considerable part of it. I am sorry to tell<lb></lb>
you that the Treasurer did expect to hear, from one or both<lb></lb>
of you, & indeed He is some what displeased that He has<lb></lb>
not, Notwithstanding all this, He has Order'd one to Write<lb></lb>
for 25 or 30<obscured></obscured>
of year Pale Malt provided you will<lb></lb>
deliver it at a Market price, which was then 24/6 Pqur<lb></lb>
& six 6 Pqur cheaper than for what you offer'd it to Sale</p>
