<p n="1354">receive any Evidence whatever on his past and came to the following Resolution that is last<lb></lb>
"Minutes of the last Meeting read and<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
confirmed</p>
<p n="1355">"Resolved. That it is the opinion of this Committee taking into their Consideration<lb></lb>
"all the Circumstances of Mr Francis's Claim that the Sum of One hundred Pounds allowed<lb></lb>
"him by the Committee of the Twenty Ninth of March last is a fair and reasonable Consideration<lb></lb>
"for any Losses he may have sustained by his Contract with this County"</p>
<p n="1356">That your Petitioner conceiving himself to be aggrieved and oppressed in the<lb></lb>
premises by the said Magistrates for Surry and their said Surveyor on the fourth Day of<lb></lb>
October Instant gave notice in Writing to the said Clerk of the Peace for the said County<lb></lb>
of Surry pursuant<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
to the said Act of this appeal and of the Matter thereof and he have expressed into<lb></lb>
such Recognizance with such Sureties and for such purposes as are particularly mentioned<lb></lb>
and required by the said Act.</p>
<p n="1357">Your Petitioner therefore most humbly prays<del>Your Worships</del>
<lb></lb>
that your Worshipswill be pleased to receive this his Petition of<lb></lb>
appeal against the said proceeding of the said Magistrates of <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50964_geo570">Surry</rs>

and their said Surveyor except as to the<lb></lb>
said Resolution of the Twenty Fifth day of April last) and to grant him not only such<lb></lb>
redress as the said Magistrates by such Resolution clearly acknowledge that he is intitled<lb></lb>
to But also such further and other Redress in the premises as to your Worships in your Wisdom and Justice<lb></lb>
shall seem meet and as his Case may Require and that your Worships will be pleased to order that this<lb></lb>
appeal may be heard and determined in the present Sessions</p>
