King assigned to keep the Peace in the County aforesaid<lb></lb>
and laos to hear and determine divers Felonies<lb></lb>
Trespasses and other Misdemeanour's committed in<lb></lb>
the same County.</p>
<p n="2074">Whereas by Virtue of an Act of Parliament made in the fourth Year<lb></lb>
of the Reign of King Henry the Eighth intitled "An Act made for<lb></lb>
Pewterers and true Weights and Beam's Power is given to His<lb></lb>
Majesty's <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMPS50867_occ464">Justices of the Peace</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50867_occ464" type="occupation" value="Justices of the Peace"></interp>
within every Shire at the General<lb></lb>
Quarter Session holden at Michaelmas to assign and appoint<lb></lb>
two certain Persons having experience therein to make search<lb></lb>
after Case or unlawful Pewter or Brass deceivable or false Beams<lb></lb>
and Weights of the Wares in the said Act in that respect specified<lb></lb>
by the Persons in the aforesaid Act in that behalf mentioned and<lb></lb>
other Offences against the said Act of Parliament in every Part of<lb></lb>
the Shire as well within Franchise as without saving in Cities or<lb></lb>
Boroughs where Searchers be appointed by the Heads and Governors<lb></lb>
of the same And Whereas of all such unlawful Pewter or Brass<lb></lb>
as the said Searchers shall find the one half is to be to the use of<lb></lb>
our Sovereign Lord the King and the other half to the said Searchers<lb></lb>
by Virtue of the said Statute And Whereas in default of the Master<lb></lb>
and Wardens in the said Occupations not searching in form as is<lb></lb>
aforesaid and whereby that any such unlawful Metal is cast or<lb></lb>
made or unlawful Weights used It is by the said Act enacted That<lb></lb>
it shall and may be lawful for any Person having sufficient<lb></lb>
coming and Knowledge in the said Occupations by oversight of the<lb></lb>
Mayors Bailiffs or Head Officers of the said Cities and Boroughs<lb></lb>
to search all the said Places and to put the said Authority and</p>
