<p n="541">Mr Barnfather dated to the Court that about a Year<lb></lb>
as an Order of Sessions was made desiring all Justices before<lb></lb>
whom Vagrants were brought, to see tha such Vagrants<lb></lb>
was in a state of health fit to be passed without endangering<lb></lb>
Life. Nothwithstanding which Order the Parish Officer<lb></lb>
continue to pass them in Numbers Many of whom are so<lb></lb>
dangerously ill & weak; that when in <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50803_geo693">Bridewell</rs>

, they frequently<lb></lb>
dare not remove them agreeable to the Pass, but they remain<lb></lb>
in that Gaol, in the most deplorable condition of Fifth<lb></lb>
Vermin & Diseases for Weeks, to the great danger of the lives<lb></lb>
of the other Prisoners by the infection spreading over the Gaol<lb></lb>
That Saturday last 10th. of Novr. a Vagrant was sent into the prison<gap reason="illegible"></gap>

from Shadwell actually dying & expired early on the Tuesday<lb></lb>

Bones cover'd with Parliment, that this Evil is become so<lb></lb>
general that is dangerous for any person to attend them &.<lb></lb>

& Nurses have great & unnecessary trouble for<lb></lb>

deplorable condition in the Gaol Weeks together<lb></lb>
creating great trouble to the Keepers & others, expences to the<lb></lb>
County & highly infections to the Gaol & all therein</p>
