<p n="968">I was lately favoured with your Letter to me, franked by our worthy<lb></lb>
member for this County, and Chairman of the County Sessions; As Also, (a few<lb></lb>
Days after,) with a printed recommendatory Letter from the <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMPS50801_occ482">Clerk of the Peace</rs>

of this County, in further testimony of the Court's Approbation of the Motion<lb></lb>
of the last Sessions, respecting Surveyors of Parish Highways, within<lb></lb>
this County.I presume to imagine, that the Justices of this<lb></lb>
Division had not any such printed recommendatory Letter sent to them,<lb></lb>
as they did on "Thursday last, the 13th Day of October instant 1785, ("being<lb></lb>
"previous to the Michaelmas Sessions;) "Appoint, divers Surveyors<lb></lb>
of Parish Highways;- and some of them, are "Publicans.vizt<lb></lb>

<p n="969">I know of no other way, (to get into the Line of the said printed recommend-<lb></lb>
=atory Letter) but, "for the worthy Chairman of the Sessions to be pleased<lb></lb>
to look at the Act for the Highways, of the 13th Geo 3d, chap 78,-"whereby,<lb></lb>
he will soon see,-"Whether, the Appointment of Surveyors "on<lb></lb>
the said 13th Day of October instant, (being "before the Michaelmas<lb></lb>
Sessions;) is "premature?, or "valid?If premature;"that<lb></lb>
the <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMPS50801_occ484">Justices of this Division</rs>

, may, (by that <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMPS50801_occ485">Gentleman</rs>

to make "fresh Appointments of Surveyors.</p>
