At the Adiizes held for this County, upon the<lb></lb>
18th Day of July, 1785.<lb></lb>
THE GRAND JURY unanimously returned their<lb></lb>
Thanks to their REPRESENTATIVES for their Conduct<lb></lb>
in Parliament, and Attention the Interest of their Constituents<lb></lb>
Particularly by their Zealous Endeavours to relieve their Country<lb></lb>
from the very unequal and serve Burden imposed upon them, by the<lb></lb>
late <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMPS50800_occ260">BRICK and TILE</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50800_occ260" type="occupation" value="BRICK and TILE"></interp>
TAX; at the same Time the GRAND<lb></lb>
JURY came to the following Resolutions:</p>
<p n="942">First-That their Members be earnestly requested to use every<lb></lb>
Endeavor to obtain either a total Repeal of the said Act, or Such an<lb></lb>
Extention of the Tax to other Materials used in building, as<lb></lb>
may enable Government, without any Diminution of the Revenue<lb></lb>
in some Degree to alleviate the Hardship that particular Counties<lb></lb>
new labor under from the said Act.</p>
<p n="943">SecondThat the Members for the City of <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50800_geo601">Norwich</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50800_geo601" type="placeName" value="Norwich"></interp>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50800_geo601" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
and the<lb></lb>
other Members for Places within the said County, be requested to<lb></lb>
support the County Members in the said Application.</p>

the Gentleman assembled at their next General Quarter Sessions of<lb></lb>
the Peace for their respective Counties, in hopes of their Concurrence<lb></lb>
and Assistance in promoting the Objects of these Resolution</p>
<p n="945">FourthThat these Resolutions be inserted three Times in four<lb></lb>
of the Evening Papers published in London, and as often in the<lb></lb>
two Norwich Papers.</p>
