in their General Quarter Session of the Peace holden for the said County<lb></lb>
in the Month of June 1785 assembled</p>
<p n="299">The further Report of the Committee appointed<lb></lb>
to Pave the Ground belonging to this County round the<lb></lb>
Session House and also to Consider whether a Whipping<lb></lb>
Post can be conveniently placed near the Session House<lb></lb>
or whether a Moviable one might not be used for the<lb></lb>
purpose and whether a way cannot be made for the Grand<lb></lb>
Jury to come into Court without Coming in under the<lb></lb>
Stairs as they now do and whether better accomodation<lb></lb>
cannot be provided for the Witnesses attending the Court<lb></lb>
and the Graund Jury and also such other mattters as they<lb></lb>
may think necessary to be done in and about the Session<lb></lb>
House</p>
<p n="300">The Said Committee Report</p>
<p n="301">That having taken into Consideration the Order<lb></lb>
of Reference and having taken a View of the Session House and of <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50797_geo329">the Ground</rs>

adjouining they are of Opinion That the Pavement t the Front of the Building<lb></lb>
should be 12 fiet wide and paved with Moor Stone Curb at the Extremity<lb></lb>
thereof and filled in with Purbeck Squares,the Footways to the several Doom<lb></lb>
should be paved in the same manner That a give and take Line should<lb></lb>
be laid our with the Commissn for paving St John <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50797_geo330">Clerkenwell</rs>

to be<lb></lb>
inclosed with a Slight Iron Railing and that a Parallel footway of<lb></lb>
different widths as the case may require should be settled with the said<lb></lb>
Parish and formed at the Expence of the County in manner following<lb></lb>
Vizt</p>
<p n="302">The Extremity's thereof to be laid with the Court<lb></lb>
or Moor Stone and the inside lovelled and filled<lb></lb>
with hard Screen Ballast or Drift</p>
