aforesaid did, in Pursuance of an Act of<lb></lb>
Parliament made in the Third and Fourth Years of the Reign<lb></lb>
of their late Majesties King William and Queen Mary,<lb></lb>
intituled, "An Act for the better repairing and amend-<lb></lb>
"ing the Highways, and for settling the Rates of<lb></lb>
"Carriage of Goods," asses and rate the Prices of Land-<lb></lb>
Carriage of Goods as follows:</p>
<p n="351">NO Carrier within the said County shall have, or take, more than Eight-pence,<lb></lb>
for Carriage of One Hundred Weight of Goods or Wares (reckoning One<lb></lb>
Hundred and Twelve Pounds to each Hundred) to any Place not exceeding Ten Miles<lb></lb>
from the Market-town or Place where the same shall be delivered him, and so pro-<lb></lb>
portionably for every Half-hundred,<obscured></obscured>
rter of a Hundred, or any greater or less<lb></lb>
Weight: and also proportionably<obscured></obscured>
Distance.</p>
<p n="352">ALSO, No Waggoner or CarrI<obscured></obscured>
r Carriage by Waggon of any Goods,<lb></lb>
weighing a Quarter of a Hundred or upwards, from <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50740_geo190">London</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMPS50740_geo190" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
to <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50740_geo191">Honiton</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMPS50740_geo191" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
, shall take more<lb></lb>
than at the Rate of Seven Shillings and Sixpence a Hundred, (reckoning One Hun-<lb></lb>
dred and Twelve Pounds to each Hundred); and if under, a Quarter of an Hundred,<lb></lb>
not more than Three Half-pence by the Pound; and so proportionably to any other<lb></lb>
Town or Place within the said County, according to its Distance from London.</p>
<p n="353">ALSO, No Carrier shall have or take, for Carriage of any Goods on Horseback,<lb></lb>
weighing a Qaarter of an Hundred or upwards, to any Market-town or Place within<lb></lb>
this County, whose Distance doth not exceed One Hundred Miles from the Market-<lb></lb>
town or Place where the same shall be delivered, more than after the Rate of Six<lb></lb>
Shillings a Hundred, (reckoning One Hundred and Twelve Pounds to the Hundred);<lb></lb>
and if under a Quarter of an Hundred, not more than Three Half-pence a Pound;<lb></lb>
and so proportionably for any greater Weight, or greater or less Distance.</p>
<p n="354">ALSO, No Waggoner or Carrier shall have or take, for Carriage by Waggon of<lb></lb>
any Goods weighing a Quarter or an Hundred or upwards, to any Market-town or<lb></lb>
Place within this County, whose Distance does not exceed One Hundred Miles from the<lb></lb>
Market-town or Place where the same shall be delivered, more than after the Rate of<lb></lb>
Four Shillings a Hundred, (reckoning One Hundred and Twelve Pounds to the Hun-<lb></lb>
dred); and if under a Quarter of an Hundred, not more than One Penny a Pound;<lb></lb>
and so proportionably for any greater Weight, or greater or less Distance.</p>
