said Street and also in acton Street, Britannia street and<lb></lb>
Constitution Row in the said Parish and County</p>

That by an act of Parliament made in the thirteenth year of the<lb></lb>
Reign of His present Majesty King George the third Intituled and Act<lb></lb>
to explain amend and reduce into one Act of Parliament the General Laws<lb></lb>
now in being for regulating the Turnpike Roads in that part of Great<lb></lb>
Britain called <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50685_geo949">England</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50685_geo949" type="placeName" value="England"></interp>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50685_geo949" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
and for other Purposes It is (among other things)<lb></lb>
enacted That it shall and may be lawful for the Trustees of any particular<lb></lb>
Turnpike Act or any seven or more of them at a Public Meeting to let to Farm<lb></lb>
the Tolls of the several Gates erected upon their respective Turnpike Roads in<lb></lb>
she Manner therein after mentioned although no express Power shall have<lb></lb>
been given by such Turnpike Act for that Purpose and that whenever any<lb></lb>
Tolls should be let to Farm by virtue of the Power given by that or any other<lb></lb>
Act or Acts of Parliament the following Directions should be observed that<lb></lb>
is to say The Trustees should cause Notice to be given of the Time and Place<lb></lb>
for letting the same at least one Month before the Day to be appointed for that<lb></lb>
Purpose by Affixing the same upon every Toll Gate belonging to such Turnpike<lb></lb>
Road, And also upon the Market Cross of the Market Town nearest to the<lb></lb>
Place where the said Tolls are to be let and also in some publick News paper<lb></lb>
circulated in that part of the Country and specifying in every such Notice the<lb></lb>
Sum which the said Tolls produced in the preceeding Year clear of the Salary<lb></lb>
for collecting the same (in case any hired collector was appointed) And that<lb></lb>
they would let such Tolls by Auction to the best bidder on his producing<lb></lb>
sufficient Sureties for Payment of the Money Monthly or Quarterly as should</p>
